Geotechnical works in May and June 2013
Seqwater will conduct geotechnical investigation works at Lake Macdonald Dam from 9 May to 6 June 2013.
Borehole drilling will be carried out along the toe of Lake Macdonald Dam to assess the subsurface conditions for a proposed upgrade of the dam wall and spillway at Lake Macdonald.
The recreation areas at Lake Macdonald Dam will remain open while the borehhole drilling is in progress. However the section of Lake Macdonald Dam, immediately around each borehole location will be fenced and off-limits while the machinery is on site. Safety signage will be displayed on site while
these works are underway. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.

Lake Macdonald and all recreation areas are currently open for all permitted recreational activities.
About Lake Macdonald
Lake Macdonald had a further 3.6 metres added to the height of the dam in 1980 increasing the storage to its current capacity.
The following recreational activities are permitted at Lake Macdonald:
- barbequing
- boating (electric powered or manual)
- canoeing
- fishing
- horse riding
- kayaking
- picnicking
- walking
