Ewen Maddock Dam – Stage 1 Safety Upgrade complete

Stage 1 of the safety upgrade works at Ewen Maddock Dam are now complete.

The works were undertaken in order to meet dam safety requirements identified during a Dam Safety Review in 2010, and to comply with Queensland Guidelines on Acceptable Flood Capacity (AFC).

Stage 1 works involved strengthening and widening the dam wall embankment, as well as installing relief wells to control groundwater levels.

Stage 2 Works are planned for the future to improve the spillway capacity and raise the dam wall.
