Baroon Pocket Water Supply Scheme (WSS)

The water sharing rules for the Baroon Pocket WSS are detailed in the Interim Resource Operations License (IROL) for Baroon Pocket WSS (available at www.derm.qld.gov.au).

 

Under the IROL for Baroon Pocket WSS Seqwater does not calculate announced allocations for interim water allocation (IWA) holders. These IWA holders can take water, under various conditions, up to their total nominal IWA.

 

Seqwater must also make releases from Baroon Pocket Dam into Obi Obi Creek to meet the requirements of downstream landowners on Obi Obi Creek in accordance with directions given by the chief executive of the Department of Environment and Resource Management, provided that the quantity of water directed to be released does not exceed 2000 ML in any one water year.
